Borla Exhaust There were a few small holes in the original exhaust system... and you know what that means... its UPGRADE time!! Since this is a fairly low-budget affair, I used the previous muffler from my Toyota MR2, a straight-through 2.5" Borla center/offset oval. I had an exhaust shop cut the pipe immediately after the header pipes converged, and we welded in the Borla, and then welded in a 12" long 3" diameter chrome tip, which exits in front of the left rear wheel. This is the result:
The exhaust sound is fantastic! Deep, throaty... and load though. I expected loud, but was pleased by the deepness. It definitely does not have that Honda buzzy sound. It is certainly a testament to the fact that the engine makes the exhaust sound, with the muffler tuning, dampening and well.. muffling, the sound. It is louder than my Turbo MR2 with either this Borla or its new Magnaflow, naturally. I can also feel the fact that the engine is breathing better. Hmmm.... next, the intake setup...:) ! |
